NEW RELEASE – BAIE SAIGNE’E
We are over the moon, excited about a new addition to the BAIE Wines range – the first in 10 years and we will be releasing it online and in selected Wine Stores as at Monday 30th October.
Adding a Saigne’e is something we are so happy about – we have been long time Saigne’e fans – but it’s important people understand that it is a very different wine to our current Rose’. BAIE Saigne’e – (French for ‘bleeding off’) refers to our winemakers techniques of carefully extracting the free run juice after we have picked our Shiraz followed by 6 months in third and fourth fill French Oak Barriques. This is a fuller flavoured, fruit driven, savoury Rose’.
Richard Crowley from Barwon Heads Wine Store wrote the following review –
“The new Saignee from Baie Wines is a lovely addition to their line up. It’s a more serious rose – as you would expect from a saignee style – deeper in colour richer thanks to six months in oak. On the palate, the ‘Baie style is noticeable, that familiar soft and creamy texture which is quickly followed by hints of cherry and a much richer mouthfeel leads itself as a perfect food match. I look forward to putting this on the table over summer”.
BAIE 2017 Saigne’e retails at $30 per bottle and is available online, and at selected wine stores including Barwon Heads Wine Store, Bottles and Barrels, Randalls, Geelong Cellar Door and Wine Domaine.
BAIE ROSE’ SPRITZ
W are so excited to announce the launch of summers go to drink the divine ‘BAIE Rose’ Spritz’ as seen when launched at the amazing luxury Level Seven Rooftop Bar at Primus Hotel Sydney by the team at Delicious (we can hardly believe it)!! See here the recipe the inspired bar staff at Primus Hotel created –
- 60ml BAIE rosé wine
- 60ml sparkling wine
- 30ml Aperol
- Orange Zest
- Orange peel to serve
- 1 Place spiced ice ball in glass and pour over rosé, sparkling wine and Aperol.
- 2 Sprinkle Orange Zest.
- 3 Swirl glass with ice ball and garnish with an orange peel.
TOAST TO THE COAST
We know how much some of you enjoy attending Baie Wines during Toast to the Coast. Unfortunately this year Baie will not be opening their doors to the public as after sell out vintages in the last two years we are trying to make sure our wine lasts a little longer for all! We love Toast to the Coast as much as you do so are very disappointed not to be attending but hope very much to be back next year.
We are excited to reveal some more details for the upcoming Spring Grazing lunch at The Bungalow Restaurant this Wednesday 25th October for Geelong Cup, where we will be serving all of your BAIE Wines favourites by the glass/bottle. The format of the day will be kept quite relaxed and informal. The team at The Bungalow will be serving 16 different shared items over four courses. The Geelong Cup will be streaming live and you will be able to try your hand at a sweep or two with prizes awarded during the afternoon. You can still ring The Bungalow team on 52163025 to book a table for your raceday gang until Tuesday 24th – but hurry only a few tables left.
MEDALS MEDAL MEDALS
We are excited to announce that yet again we are so proud to count ourselves among the lucky few to have been awarded Medals at this years Geelong Wine Show held last week on the 17th and 18th October. This year we have bagged a Bonze Medal for our 2017 BAIE Pinot Gris and a Silver Medal for our 2017 BAIE Rose’. We couldn’t be more proud of the hard work Simon and Pete put in the vineyard and our winemakers Robin and Marcus put in at the winery to bring about award winning wines each year! Don’t forget you can get your share of these delicious wines online and you can choose a mix of wines as long as you are ordering the total quantity in boxes of 6 or 12.
